News About Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls is one of the the Natural Wonders of the World. This unbelievably large and breathtaking waterfall was first documented of being discovered by a French priest named Father Louis Hennepin, in 1678. It was said that Hennepin was on a expedition, and when he found Niagara, he was in awe. When he returned to France, Hennepin published his expedition as “A New Discovery”. From this, the popularity of Niagara Falls grew and grew.

Niagara is so large that it crosses from the Niagara Falls, New York border all the way into Ontario, Canada! When you are standing on either side (America or Canada), you can clearly see    the other country, and while you are at the rails that overlook Niagara, you can feel the mist of the waterfall, even if you are lots and lots of feet higher than the bottom of the falls. After all, there are approximately 750,000 gallons of water pouring over Niagara Falls every second!

Niagara is a naturally formed waterfall that flows from the Great Lakes Michigan, Superior, Huron and Erie. It then flows into Lake Ontario, the St. Lawrence River and eventually the Atlantic Ocean.  But we can’t forget about the other extravagant waterfalls that can be found in Niagara Falls, New York. These waterfalls are called Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls. Horseshoe Falls is mostly located in the Canadian side, whereas the American Falls (as you can probably infer by its name) is located completely on the American side. These two are separated by a small piece of land in between them called ‘Goat Island’.
