Top 10 Books to Read

There are a LOT of books in the library. To much, actually. So many, that a lot of people don’t know what to read. So here are my recommendations.

NUMBER UNO!

A book that’s good if you don’t have a lot of time on your hands is Skin. It’s only 100 pages long and is about a teenager with something evil inside him and as he puts it, makes it look like a pizza exploded all over his face. The only thing I really don’t like about this book is a lot of things come out of nowhere. Then again, it’s not like there were a lot of pages to do this on.

NUMBER DOS!

The book that got me into reading is titled Animorphs. It’s about a kid named Jake with his 4 friends, Cassie, Rachel, Tobias, and Marco. It kinda has that 90’s horror movie feel to it because they’re walking home from the mall, a U.F.O. lands around where they are. An alien with no mouth and eyes on stalks tells them about an alien invasion. So he asks them all to touch a blue box on his space ship. It gives them the power to turn into any animal they touch. And the rest basically just happens and BOOM! You have a book series that has like, 30 books.

NUMBER 3!

The Fallen is probably my least favorite book in the Enemy series. And by that I mean it’s the least good. (Wait, what?) Because this book is awesome, just not as awesome as the others. The story is the most different then the other books in the series. In stead of some sort of info and them traveling (well, there’s some of that) it shows how they struggle in their life in this new world. Deaths, psychopaths, and lack of supplies. It really puts the apocalypse in perspective.

NUMBER 4!

Dark Inside is another apocalypse book, but Dark Inside is not just your run-of-the-mill apocalypse book. Instead of zombies, it’s an ancient evil that makes everyone want to kill each other. They’re skin doesn’t rot and their brains don’t 100% die. And they can talk. Also a bunch of random sinkholes appeared in the ground.

NUMBER 5!

Swipe, ah, where do I begin with you? It’s about a 12 year old boy who lost his sister during her Pledge. You have to Pledge when you turn 13 to get the Mark. You have to get Marked in order to become an A.U. citizen. They explain more about it in the book so read it!

NUMBER 6!

The Fear is a another apocalypse book, another book by Charlie Higson. When you put that all together you realize, oh, it’s another Enemy book. THAT I AWESOME. The plot is that one of Ed’s (He was introduced in the last book) friends, DogNut, (that’s his nickname) sets out to try and find more settlements. This is as far as I can get to without spoiling anything.

NUMBER 7!

I’m sorry, but number 7 is, The Dead, which is the 2nd book in the Enemy series. If you’re tired of hearing the Enemy series then turn back now because I’m afraid the rest will be the Enemy series. Anyway, The Dead is about Ed, Jack, and Bam trying to survive and find places to sleep and camp. A lot of death is in this book so don’t get to attached to anyone. The first scene takes place in Rowhurst School. By the way, I think I forgot to mention that the Enemy series takes place in London.

NUMBER 8!

The 8th entry on this Top 10 will be The Sacrifice. In this book, Small Sam and his friend, The Kid, set out find Sam’s sister while back at the Tower of London, Ed faces the stress of leading a group this big. And there’s another story going on but I won’t spoil that one… But anyway Sam’s search is brought to a screeching halt when… Oops, it’s time for number 9!

NUMBER 9!

The Enemy is what started this amazing book series, and is the second best of all of them (at least in my opinion). It begins at Waitrose (correct me if I spelled that wrong please) and begins to introduce all of the MAIN characters. They go and head out for food and find a vending machine in an old pool. This is as far as I can go without spoiling anything major so GO READ IT!

NUMBER 10!

The Hunted. THIS BOOK IS EPIC! It picks off right where The Fallen stopped. Where Ella and wet Monkey Boy were in the middle of the road. Monkey Boy dies by the way. Ella finds a grown-up who isn’t crazed, Ed’s group finds a car and drives it around in search for Ella. Might I mention that the 3 most awesome characters in this book are Kyle, Lewis, and Ed. SO COOL! MUST READ! And the races, but I’m getting ahead of myself. I give this book a 5/5, or a 10/10, or 100%. But basically, it’s perfect!

And that was the Top 10 books I think everyone should read.

    1. Those were books that I really enjoyed and made me want to get the next book in the series (assuming it was a series). If you like Science-fiction books you’ll love the Enemy series and the Swipe series.
