Myths You Still Believe Today

People Believe a lot of thing that people say. Most of it is false. We’ll be talking about the myths you still believe today. Number one is “You Have To Wait Thirty Minutes After Eating Before Going in Water” Myth. This myth is one of the most popular ones. But, like most myths, it’s false. According to parkview.com, it depends on a few factors. If you eat a snack and swim averagely, you’re fine. I you eat a whole meal like a burger, fries and a milkshake, it might be a problem. So is it fact or a myth? It’s both.

Our second myth is that “Cats Always Land On Their Feet” myth. You have probably heard this before. You probably believed it. But, I think you shouldn’t throw your cat out your window to see. But this one was really believable. Cats are like ninjas and their quick actions by landing on their feet most of the time make this more believable. Most of the time. Cats fall on their side, get broken legs, sprained paws and much more from not falling on their feet.

Our final myth is probably the one you and your parents believe. It’s the “Not Wearing A Coat In Winter Makes You Catch A Cold Myth’’ myth. Everyone believed this myth. But, it’s actually false, believe it or not. Colds are 100% by viral- by the rhinovirus. You have to catch one from someone carrying it. But why is it most found in winter? Well, everyone is inside and breathing in people’s coughs and sneezes. Gross.

And that wraps it up for our myths. I hope I taught you some things that you can tell friends, family, and any random stranger!

  1. Hi, Ian s! I found it very interesting that the “not wearing in a coat in the winter makes you catch a cold myth” was very interesting because I have always thought that it would make me catch a cold but, turns out it doesn’t! Thanks for sharing these with me, it was a great blog post.
